Description

Founded in 2009 in the Adana Industrial Zone, Island Denim Tekstil A.Ş. is a pioneering textile manufacturer that redefines indigo dyeing through technology, craftsmanship, and sustainability. After nearly seven years of intensive research and development, the company introduced a proprietary bobbin indigo dyeing system a world first innovation that enables indigo dyeing directly on yarn wound in bobbin form, eliminating the structural limitations of traditional rope and slasher dyeing methods. This unique technology provides complete flexibility in production. It allows the dyeing of any yarn count from 1 Ne to 200 Ne and supports all cellulosic fiber blends, including cotton, linen, viscose, Tencel™, and hemp, without minimum quantity requirements. The system is also compatible with CoreSpun and CoreYarn constructions, combining elasticity and durability with the authentic appearance of denim, making it ideal for premium and boutique brands seeking differentiation and performance. Island Denim produces indigo, Delavé, and sulfur-dyed yarns and converts them into woven and knitted fabrics within its fully integrated facilities. Monthly production capacity reaches 100,000 kg of dyed yarn, 200,000 meters of woven fabric, and 30,000 kg of knitted fabric. The company’s diverse product range—from jacquards and selvedge denims to piqué and jersey covers fabric weights between 40 g/m² and 750 g/m², serving designers who value originality, texture, and traceable craftsmanship. The Delavé Indigo Process has expanded the classic denim color spectrum to more than 120 distinctive shades while preserving the washing and fading behavior of traditional indigo. This innovation allows designers to explore tonal depth without compromising the natural character and aging of denim. Sustainability is central to Island Denim’s identity. Renewable energy, closed-loop water systems, and certified sourcing are integrated throughout production. Through its solar energy investment, the company meets nearly 50% of its electricity demand from renewable sources. The Blue Sustain Project further reduces environmental impact by recycling dye wastewater through chemical and color rebalancing, achieving up to 50% water savings, 20% dye reduction, and 30% lower chemical usage. All operations are certified under GOTS, OCS, and RCS standards and are audited by Control Union, ensuring full transparency from raw fiber to finished fabric through digital traceability systems. Beyond technology, Island Denim is guided by human values creativity, responsibility, and respect. More than a manufacturer, Island Denim is a storyteller, transforming indigo into a bridge between tradition and the future. Its enduring philosophy is clear: Born to Be Indigo.
